GET MP3 TO MIDI
Privacy policy

Your audio stays in your browser
Files you choose and recordings you make are processed locally in your own browser. The tool does not upload those files or recordings to our servers or to an external conversion service. Generated MIDI files are downloaded to your device.
Your last conversion on this device
When a conversion finishes or you adjust the note filters, the tool tries to save one recent conversion in this browser’s IndexedDB storage: its source audio and local filename, analysis results, filter settings and MIDI result. A newer saved conversion replaces the previous copy. This is storage in the current browser profile on this device, separate from optional analytics; saving it does not automatically upload your audio, recordings or filenames.
After refreshing or reopening the tool, use Restore previous result to restore this saved copy. The tool decodes the saved audio for playback and reuses the saved analysis and MIDI instead of running recognition again. Use Delete saved result in the tool to remove the saved conversion from browser storage. Clearing this website’s stored data in your browser also removes it; neither action deletes MIDI files you already downloaded.
Saving is not guaranteed: your browser may refuse storage, run out of space or clear stored website data. If saving fails, the tool shows a notice and you can still use the current conversion and download its MIDI. This local copy is not a cloud backup or a promise of permanent storage.
Microphone access
The tool requests microphone permission only when you choose to record. You can use an existing audio file without granting microphone access.
Website hosting
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Loading the site sends ordinary web requests to Cloudflare, including network information such as your IP address and browser request headers. This is separate from audio processing: your selected audio and recordings are not included in these requests. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of information.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Optional Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. It measures page visits and engagement using analytics cookies and device/browser information. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. If you choose No thanks, the Google Analytics script is not loaded. Your choice is stored locally in your browser. You can change it using Privacy choices in the footer; rejecting removes this site’s analytics cookies and reloads the page when needed. No advertising scripts are active. See Google’s privacy policy.
With your consent, we also observe three conversion events: starting analysis, ending analysis, and triggering a MIDI download. They use random task and run identifiers, the analysis mode, input type (upload, recording, built-in example or restored audio that you actually re-analyze), and a category that distinguishes ordinary visits, recruited testing and development. End events include a controlled status (success, no notes, cancelled or error), a broad error category when needed, and an elapsed-time range. Re-analysis is recorded as a separate run; re-analyzing restored audio starts a new task. Restoring alone does not replay old conversion-success events or link downloads to the old conversion. Random identifiers are held in your browser’s memory for these tasks, rather than derived from your file or audio.
We do not send audio, recordings, filenames, individual notes, complete error messages, full URL query strings or referring-page URLs to Google Analytics. Runs that start before consent are not sent later when you allow analytics. Withdrawal stops conversion event sending. A download event means that the tool triggered a download; it does not prove that you saved or used the MIDI, or that the notes are correct.
Affiliate links
We link to Musicnotes through Rakuten Advertising. If you make a qualifying purchase through this link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The link contains an affiliate identifier for this website. Clicking it takes you through Rakuten’s tracking service to Musicnotes; those services receive ordinary browser request information and may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute a purchase. We do not load Rakuten tracking pixels or scripts when you simply view this site, and we do not include your audio or filenames in the link. The destination services have their own privacy policies and controls.
Feedback and contact messages
Feedback links open a draft in your email app. You choose whether to send it and can edit or remove any prefilled details. These details are limited to the result context, audio duration, note count, note range and browser user agent. The tool never includes your filename or attaches audio. If you choose to attach a sample yourself, that attachment is part of the email you send.
We use the email address, message, technical details and any attachments you choose to send to investigate problems, respond to you and improve the converter. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages to the site owner’s Gmail inbox. We delete feedback emails and any attachments within 180 days of receiving them. You can request deletion of your message and attachments at any time by emailing [email protected]. Feedback is not used for advertising.
